Yip! aku nabasahan sa News hehe Kamao mani si Poligrates jud mukiat lng jud usahay hehe Si Rogado nka 27 Points pagduwa nila kontra Cagayan...

The Cagayan Valley Rising Suns finally won a game in the PBA Developmental League.

Christopher Eximiniano led three players in double with 20 points and Edrian Lao made a key defensive play in the closing seconds as the Rising Suns came away with an 89-85 decision against newcomer Informatics yesterday at the start of the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup at The Arena in San Juan City.

“This is a sort of a welcome win for me and I’m very happy we pulled this one out,” said Rising Suns’ coach Alvin Pua, who went 0-9 during his team’s maiden campaign last conference.

The Rising Suns, who rallied from 10 points down in the second quarter, seized momentum in the fourth with an 11-2 run to pull ahead for good, 81-73, with under five minutes to play.

“Hopefully magtuloy-tuloy itong magandang start namin,” Pua said.

With a retooled line-up that included seasoned collegiate players the Rising Suns should be able to give the rest of the field a good run for their money.

“Wala naman kaming expectation this conference. But we promise to give our best every game.”

Fil-Canadian James Forrester and Adrian Celada each scored 15 points and Joshua Webb scattered 11 points for the Rising Suns, who netted 32 points on transition baskets and 21 points on Informatics’ 22 turnovers.

Moncrief Rogado led all scorers with 27 points and Marvin Hayes had 22 and rebounds for the Icons, who has a strong start but succumbed to costly turnovers.

Informatics went 12 for 32 from the three-point range but they turned the ball over 22 times and ruined their debut.

The Rising Suns held an 87-82 lead but Bryan Cruz made a basket and Hayes knocked a 3-pointer with 28.7 seconds remaining to pull Informatics within two points.

The Icons had a chance to tie or win the game when Lao was called for an offensive foul giving Informatics possession. After a timeout, the Icons went to Cruz down low but the 6-foot-5 forward lost the ball while working against Lao and Forrester finished the play with a layup as time expired. (Dave Coros)

    The scores:

    Cagayan Rising Suns 89 – Exciminiano 20, Forrester 15, Celeda 15, Webb 11, Lao 9, Poligrates 7, Bringas 5, Melano 4, Bartolo 3, Chiong 0, Dela Cruz 0, Macuha 0.

    Informatics 85 – Rogado 27, Hayes 22, Bautista 7, Doligon 7, Mangahas 6, Benitez 6, Cruz 6, Carlo 4, Sanghera 0, Acuna 0.

    Quarters: 27-20; 43-42; 66-68; 85-89
