Israel/Judah/Judea was renamed Palestina by the Roman Emperor Hadrian as part of his anti-Jewish program and as an insult to the Jews/Hebrews during the various Jewish rebellions against Rome. He chose to name it Palestina from the word Filistin/Philistine the ancient enemy of the Israelites.

It is a feud that can be traced back to the sons of Abraham. The Bible tells of the feud between the families of both sons. Then culmination of decisions with regard to the area by Roman leaders/emperors made the rift greater. Daghan sad ug holy sites for the Muslims (and Jews) in Israel--which contributed to the crusades, because the Christians did not want Jewish/Christian holy sites to be under Islamic control--Ironically, those places share the very close proximity with Muslim holy sites. So it caused an even bigger rift. Overtime, both sides have made decisions to antagonize the other, and hate nalang ni puli.
