Nationwide survey shows: USC 11th among top performing schools

CEBU, Philippines - The University of San Carlos is among the top performing schools in the country based on a survey conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission and the Commission on Higher Education.
The survey was based on how the universities and colleges in the country fare in licensure examinations administered by the PRC from 2002 to 2012.
At 11th place, USC is the only school in Cebu that made it to the list of 20 top performing colleges and universities in the country in the past 10 years.
Topping the survey were the three campuses of the University of the Philippines – UP Diliman, UP Los Baños and UP Manila.
The schools were rated based on the average passing rate of their graduates in licensure examinations.
Landing fourth place was Silliman University of Dumaguete, followed by Ateneo de Davao University of Davao City.
Completing the top 10 were Ateneo de Manila University (6th), University of Santo Tomas (7th), Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (8th), Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (9th) and St. Louis University of Baguio City (10th).
“These statistics are a result of the study conducted every 10 years by the PRC and the CHED based on the average passing rate in the board examinations of all courses of all universities and colleges in the Philippines,” the PRC and CHED said in a recent advisory.

Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro followed USC at 12th place; Mindanao State University-main campus, 13th; Urios College in Butuan City, 14th; Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Manila, 15th; De La Salle University Manila, 16th; Mapua Institute of Technology in Manila, 17th; Adamson University in Manila, 18th; Central Mindanao University in Bukidnon, 19th; and University of Southern Philippines in Davao City, 20th.—Philstar News Service/FPL (FREEMAN)
