the lens had very heavy fungus to begin with, tech manage to take out most, but a spot could not be cleared without damaging the lens so it was left behind for a reason. any competent tech maka agree ana, some damages are just not reparable. in some cases beyond economic repair or risk is too great for the minute chance of reward which has to be weight in by the tech as they perform their job. in this case, leaving that tough spot was the best course of action as the lens is now usable.
