Thread: Lego

I went to SM with my daughter to watch Frankenweenie (good movie) and we dropped by the toy section because she wanted to buy another Littlest Pet Shop set. I met Christine, the LEGO sales assistant, again and asked her to help me find the genie (pic later). Her boss, a Tagalog, was there, felt a few blind packages and quickly found it. These guys are probably trained. She said there would be an upcoming LEGO exhibit from November to January in the Northwing.

And oh, Toy Kingdom restocked on bigger Star Wars sets. They have an X-Wing for P 7,199.75. Darkwing sold it only for half that much.

    LEGO Series 6 Genie Review

    Design
    - What can I say, he's unique (his bottom half that is).
    - Definitely inspired by the Genie in the Disney movie.

    Paint
    - Nothing extraordinary

    Accessories
    - The Lamp of Wonders (reference to a quest item in the PC game ______ II)
    - You get a minifigure if you answer correctly. You wish.

    Fun Factor
    - He would be a great addition to my fledgling minifigure collection because all of them can have 3 wishes as long as they don't wish him to kill something or somebody (he's a good genie), to make somebody fall in love, and to bring something or somebody back from the dead.

    Gripe
    - I don't know how but I wish LEGO had his 'tail' come out of the lamp's nozzle or pick hole.

    Score: 4.5

"Not to be mean, Genie, but your rules kind of suck."

@gezeala: Yes, LEGO sets are very expensive in the Philippines and that's why we're glad an Istoryan, darkwing and a handful of others, are selling them at reasonable prices. If I live in a big house, I'd have bought his Y-Wing and M. Falcon already.

I'm willing to wait a month or two for his supplies to arrive rather than pay exorbitant amounts. The only LEGO I buy locally are the minifigures inside the blind packages.

@cmontoya: lol i still haven't finished my M. Falcon yet, very fun build, plus you only need to buy the relatively cheap droid set so you can have the complete main Star Wars roster, i'm actually carrying the droid set for this year's last shipment
