Half of the Filipinos calling her racist all buy those whitening products that make them "not look like Filipinos" as well.

We are naturally on the darker side for being Asians because we have a lot of pacific-islander mixed in with us. What is wrong with that?

Lucy Liu: "I run in a machine. It's easier for me. Also if I get really dark, I'll start to look a little Filipino, it wouldn't match. If I start getting darker, you know what I mean? I can get really dark if I’m in the sun too much.”

    - IMO, this statement seems ambiguous and fall under two aspects: Racism vs Sarcasm

Racism (when Lucy Liu favored her country regarding the territorial disputes between China and Philippines; she will post/talk negative comments about Filipinos)

Sarcasm (In regards of beauty, filipinos are known beautiful of all Asians; dark brown complexion in nature; Lucy Liu chose Filipinos rather than other Asian races)

These are typical traits of SOME Filipinos: Onion skinned, hypocrite and imprudent. They live with lies and hide the truth. Well, it's already part of our culture. Learn to desensitize people! LOL.

we Filipinos react too much when foreigners talk something about us but we often join in the bandwagon if Filipinos talking same stuffs against ourselves.
