like what i said in my former post, in the long run a dSLR is a wise investment.

i just expounded on what MichaelNikki quoted and what a film camera may do for his photography.

@nikki..how about you buy a cheapo point & shoot cam first and start practicing on proper composition...framing on the big LCD screen would be a big help especially with the grid lines activated =)[br]Posted on: March 14, 2007, 01:44:39 AM_________________________________________________

put it this way guyz, the higher the miss/hit ratio means more room for improvement, you can only get better

another best way to learn is to learn from mistakes...

i remember during the IPC 1st photo op when they asked me how to trigger the studio lights...i explained. seemed like everyone understood.
then right before we started shooting i reminded everyone they need to set camera to manual and explained what will happen if they dont...shared my settings of 5.6 to 8.0 and 1/80 to 1/160 then if they are using hotshoe flash to trigger, they need to set it to MANUAL not ETTL...yes they all followed but later i noticed very slow shutter click and noticed ettl double pops...i asked why...coz they wanted to try it outfor themselves if indeed it wont work...gi tuyo gyud nila change to Av and ETTL just to see what happens
naigo pud ko ani..one of the valuable lessons I learned from the workshop is when Mark said about not to fire ryt away even if the model is not facing you..becoz the pic may look like it's somebody else's..

tsk..i surely would not be having missed shots like these if learned it earlier on the workshop =)

my opinions based on practiacal and actual experience...we all can learn from this...

infact if it was a full workshop/lecture i do, i ask my participants to really do what marlix and tolz did just so they would see...
its actually nice that even if i dont ask you guyz to do so, you do it in the intrest to finding out and learning
    taking advantage of the op...
a fine way to tell how much you really are intrested to learn photography! kudos!
