Disable Shutter Sound on Camera

Steps: Follow this carefully.

1. Open Root Explorer
2. Then Go To system folder
3. On the upper most part of the screen, click "Mount R/W". This will allow us to edit the files inside this folder.
4. Look for "build.prop" (text file)
5. Long press it, a new window will pop-up and select "Open in Text Editor".
6. Once it is opened, look for this line "Def.shuttersound.enable=true". If you found it, replace the word "true" to "false". take note that it is the only word that we will replace. This command line controls the behavior of camera's shuttersound.
7. Press back button, if asked to save the file, click Ok to save it. This will create a back up data automatically like "build.prop.bak".
8. Below build.prop, look for "build.prop.unsuper" file. This is with an image like a badge of a police with a star. I think this file was created because I use V6 Supercharger. I had also edited it.
9. To edit "build.prop.unsuper", follow steps 5 to 7.
10. After completing step 9, restart your device.

After restarting, try your camera if it still has a shutter sound.

Please go to menu-->"File manager"-->press “Menu” key -->"New folder"-->input "Notifications" as the folder name-->OK-->Copy the MP3 files to this new folder "Notifications";
Then go to menu-->"Messaging"-->press "Menu" key--> “Settings"-->"Select ringtone"-->you will find your MP3 files here, please select one--OK.

For those wishing to use Custom Roms for Alcatel with GB 2.3.6., there is a way to downgrade to 2.3.5 . just follow the steps on this link < alcatel OT 918 2.3.6 downgrade to 2.3.5 - Symbianize > . I for one already done this and downgraded and using a custom rom.
