lisud e implement ang libel sa online. why? lisud dakpon...what if ang ga defame sa tawo is anonymous. Or a ghost. Unsaon man nimo pag gamit sa law ana. Useless gihapon.

Republic Act No. 10175 | Official Gazette of the Republic of the Philippines

read it and then you will realize how the government can just take away our access to our computer data, internet and practically use anything we have online (past posts and current posts that are still online). They can also punish us by the mere act of liking sa facebook kay according to the new act the mere association and intent of malice may it be real or imaginary is punishable. Also read up on the bill about libel.
You don't need to give me that link bro, trust me I've been going back and forth with this law reading it from start to finish. I even have my lawyers look into this. I even covered RA 355 of the Revised Penal Code. Bro, if you are suspected of any illegal acts of course certain government agencies can check your computer data. Di mana ingon nga ang tibuok pilipinas i undergo ana nga method. Syaro, there are provisions and guidelines sad oi. I am also a critic of the government. Ako pa, I've been voicing out my opinions online. But does this law scare me? No! Why? Because in the end, it does not put me at risk of landing in jail but it protects me as a Filipino citizen and it protects each and everyone of us including you.

Those who find it useless to have this law are only looking at one side of it. What I would like to ask...are we somehow guilty of doing such acts? Ako guilty ko, but I am happy to know that there is finally a law that benefits more people than suppresses and ignores online victims.

If we all learn to be responsible online users, do you think makasuhan ka ani nga balaod? I dont think so....

    sabta sa ninyo ang definition...

so mangutana ko sa mga taw nga supak sa R.A. 1017 ug gusto ipa repell... unsa may solution ninyo if ang libel ra nga provision ang way ayo?
I don't think you read my post, so I'm reposting it here.

Repealing the law only hurts pride of the one authored/co-authored and the president who signed it. Amending the law takes more time and resources yet more lawsuits already take place. Creating a new and better crafted law and passed is the right solution. The sense of urgency deserves to FOI and not this law.

The sudden insertion of libel has become scary technique. If this can be done today, it can be done in the future laws.

and the law practically covers hacking. If the government does not control its people to do the right things and act accordingly unsa nalang man ang mahitabo nato. Is it simply because we have "freedom of speech" nga ing ana nalang ka sayon para nato nga daug daugon ang atong silingan, ang atong gobyerno and atong mga politiko.

Of course, we can criticize them but remember criticism is different from defamation, libel, etc...

I do agree that this law needs to be ammendended on certain rules like the prescription period, penalties and to provide specific rulings. But in general, I am still in full support of it. Tan awon ta lang kinsay mga illegal nga binuhatan ang di maukay sa ilang mga sayop nga binuhatan.

I wonder who sneaked in that part on libel. I have a good idea who, but I'm not gonna mention names, coz I just might get myself in trouble.

and you are not reading my post either it is "intended" to other people who wants to be repelled, thats why it is on a separate paragraph... if you want the libel part to be removed only then we are at the same side...

No, I want the entire law repealed and have a new, better-crafted one where legislators will consult to the community (IT, Academe and lawyers) due to subjects they aren't expert of, which happens to be this law.
