    We have existing laws that protect child exploitation / trafficking [Section 6 under Section 10 of Republic Act (RA) 9208; Anti-child pornography law (RA 9775); Child protection act (RA 7610)]. Though I appreciate the cyber *** provision, yet the law has more scary provisions that are prone to abuse.

    Repealing the law only hurts pride of the one authored/co-authored and the president who signed it. Amending the law takes more time and resources yet more lawsuits already take place. Creating a new and better crafted law and passed is the right solution. The sense of urgency deserves to FOI and not this law.

    The sudden insertion of libel has become scary technique. If this can be done today, it can be done in the future laws.

    - Sec. 6, which raises by one degree higher the penalties provided for by the Revised Penal Code for all crimes committed through and with the use of information and communications;

    - Sec. 19, which authorizes the DOJ to block access to computer data when such data "is prima facie found to be in violation of the provisions of this Act."

    libel is the main issue have you read the law? i do from top to bottom multiple times... and i found that libel is one of the provision that are prone to abused...

    now tell me if you want this to be repelled, what would do if you see an operator of cybers3x, online scammer, child pornography?
    Then the term CYBERCRIME should be identified, emphasized and detailed. We have laws that prohibit child pornography. The scary thing question we should ask is: Why is rampant? We have MANY LAWS that are contradictory. We have MANY LAWS that are good for the people. But we have MANY PEOPLE in the government who partner with MANY PEOPLE outside of it so they can earn extra income. We need implementations. We need transparency. Cybercrime is only the icing on the cake. Poverty is the whipped cream. The core is truly the people running all these businesses they named provisions for the country.

    Also, why pray tell is libel a cybercrime? If we have a provision on the revised penal code for libel then why is it repeated in this bill?

    I think we're old enough to know by now that we can never trust the government as it is now.

    - Sec. 12, which authorizes the real-time collection of traffic data;
    I'm sorry, but what?

    This one's very vague, its like the wiretapping law. I refuse to be spied upon our own government. Warrantless pa gyud siguro gani ni. Even if the libel clause gets cleared, EVEN if NTC/FBI doesn't have the capacity to do this, I do not feel confident of this law to move forward.

    If this is the case, I will be using secure VPN all the time to do my day-to-day tasks. Libel is not the only thing I see here as a problem.

    - Sec. 15, which authorizes the search, seizure and examination of computer data; and
    Usa pa ni, if I am asked to provide a password to my belongings, you are not getting any. Or I'll just say, I forgot my password.

    Good luck with that.
