With regards to charging, plug the charger first to the power outlet and then connect the charger to your phone. This prevents your phone from receiving voltage spikes should there be electrical sparks during charger-to-outlet contact.

That's because they've got highly regulated voltage supplies in their country (where your s2 is probably from). If it's the local unit, I still wouldn't take a chance considering the electric current comes from VECO

P.S. No offense to VECO since these voltage spikes can also be ATTRIBUTED (thanks to Nammies) to various external factors like wire-tapping, unorthodox spaghetti-like wire-splicing styles (typically observed downtown), weather, SPIDERMAN NGA NASANGIT SA WIRE WHILE WEB-SLINGING, etc.
