JPE being a Defense Minister for 17 years has better judgement on whether that information is detrimental to the National Security or not... the rebuttal he made to Trillanes is done during his "Privileged Speech" where he can say whatever he wanted to say within that time... dili kinahanglan nga mo argue siya ni Trillanes head-on...

It wasn't so much a rebuttal as it was diverting the issue.

Despite his 17 years experience as defense minister, he's trying to act as if he doesn't know anything about backdoor negotiations.

Backdoor negotiations are supposed to be kept secret. These are the nuances of diplomacy. The Chinese don't want to lose face in public when doing negotiations thats why they always conduct negotiations from a high position and will not appear to budge on all issues. Things are different behind closed doors when there is less pressure from losing face.

"I have a suspicion, nabalitaan ko na mayroon siyang kagrupo na gustong makakuha ng 30 billion dollars doon sa 70 billion dollars pledged to [President] Aquino doon sa China," Enrile added.
na buking na nuon ang billion dollars transactions ni Trilliones. yatap si Pnoy ani.
