If we stick to the topic, yes it's certain that Ravena is a lot better than Tallo. But if we shift our focus solely on Tallo, his game, and how his career might pan out (and forget for a minute about how much of an ingrate he looked for bolting Katipunan after the US trips and the incurred expenses)...

-Di ta angay ma-luoy niya because he is studying at a top university in DLSU for free, on an athletic scholarship (read: to shoot hoops). And that's after he let go of the opportunity to earn an Ateneo diploma. How many people have had that privilege?

-It's still too early to call him a bust. Call him a "fake" rookie, but the fact of the matter remains that this is only his first year playing in an actual UAAP season. If by his 3rd playing year he continues to ride the pine and play the same erroneous way, diha na ta mu-ingon nga bust siya or is a role-player at best.

-Mas bagay man sad gyud iyang duwa sa guard-oriented system of La Salle. Before Kiefer, there was no guard that really had the freedom to play their natural game in Ateneo. Example lang si Monfort, a frenetic high-volume scorer in Iloilo, who was converted into a pure PG and more of a 3-point specialist by Coach Norman.

Of course, stupid sad gamay nga nangita siyag playing time pero ni-balhin siya sa team nga daghag guards, and sayang sad gyud kay looking at Ateneo's lineup this season sakto unta kaayo si Tallo, but it's his decision and ultimately his career, so wa tay ma-hems ana. It looks quite bleak for him right now given the sparse minutes he's getting but personally I'm still holding out hope that he can prove all of us wrong.

I also disagree with the notion that he'd be better off plying his wares in another school or the NCAA. Example nalang daan is his very own teammate, Almond Vosotros. Basketball fans in Metro Manila knew what he was capable of from his HS days (just like Tallo) but he never really got to shine until this season, where he was finally able to show the clutch form he was known for from the Juniors division. What if he packed his bags and left to play for Benilde or his HS alma mater San Sebastian? Tallo already made that mistake once and I'm pretty sure he's learned his lesson. La Salle seems to have embraced him, and I'm sure he knows his time will come.

Yes. Starting to get OT. Maybe we can ask the Mods to move the OT posts (like mine) to the Tallo thread (I remember there is one somewhere)

The example of Vosotros (and even Thomas Torres) is nice but that is what is exactly keeping Tallo from developing. Others players on DLSU are developing at a faster pace and getting more PT than him. All the continuous recruitment of guards does not help. Chances are one of the recruits will be good. Like Tengsanity, he is a lock at having the ball for the next 4 years. Guys like Vosotros will eat into his PT. He can opt to stay and have that one good year (like Toress is having) or go. He has a the rest of the school year to decide.

As to DLSU embracing him, there are 2 camps. One even suggest that he was "planted" by Ateneo to take up "valuable roster space", or that he should change his family name, etc.

I am suggesting he leave precisely because na sayangan ko sa iya. Look at whom he was being compared to in this thread. It means that at the start of their UAAP careers they were at the same level of hype and expectations. Now one is on track to have a good bball career, the other is just hoping for PT.

I would rather MacMac take the risk now, since it is only bball he is after.... Not a diploma.

Pa-gwapo ra tawn kutob si dodong Tallo sa bangko ron. Wearing his "Macnificent" t-shirt, made for him by Green Fusion or Green Tag. LOL. At least the fact that they're making shirts for him indicates that he has been embraced by the school, or that they think he'll contribute in the future.
