10 Chinese patrol ships approaching Senkakus
Japan's Coast Guard has spotted 10 Chinese maritime surveillance vessels just outside Japanese waters off the Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea.
The Coast Guard is warning the vessels not to approach the waters.
Earlier on Tuesday, a Chinese fisheries patrol ship was seen 43 kilometers from the largest of the islands, Uotsuri.
China's state-run radio said on Monday that 1,000 fishing boats that left the provinces of Zhejiang and Fujian were expected to arrive near the islands soon.
The Coast Guard says it has not yet spotted a large fleet in the area.
