if we are planning to have our kids to be employed in a call center. this is an advantage. i didnt say nga wla gyud advantage ha. im just stating my point of view on what i usually see in rural barangay like the school in which my wife is teaching. if you only see the situation bro for sure you would agree with me.

same sa analogy sa telenovelas and hollywood series which do you think ang mas ganahan sa atong mga tao? they opt to watch telenovelas coz its easy for them to understand and easy for them to relate. it doesn't mean that using the native tongue in teaching will only make students "bogo" coz the fundamentals in teaching are still there, only that, the instructions are done in our native tongue. it will be the same reading, writing and arithmetic fundamentals.

makakita ka bro kng englisan nimu ang mga bata bukid mgtanga lng coz they dont understand what the teacher is telling them. a teacher will take 1 week for a lesson to finish instead of just 2 days coz the students didnt understand what the teacher is talking about.

it was never said that English will no longer be taught in school. starting grade 4 English will be part of the student's subjects. teaching them English at this stage is still never too late unlike in India where they insert English subject in grade 5.

bai, we are training ourselves not for the past but for our future. anything that will improve us or prepare our kids for a better future is important. we are required to take IELTS, TOEFL, unsa pa nang mga english proficiency exams para lang maka work or study abroad. why not train our kids while they are young? lahi tag baruganan ana bai. maybe wa pa nimo nakita ang kagamit ana. remember, third world country pa ang pilipinas. nagpaabot rata sa mga Foreign investors nga mosulod sa atong nasod (hinoon laing topic nana). English is the universal language. everybody is learning it. in china & in vietnam bai, naglata ang mga english training schools kay wa man na naapil sa ilang curriculum ang english sauna. so is it an advantage? i say YES.

ako nalng sad i add bai... it is too late for us to say nga ang ubang nasod lagi, bisan di kabalo og english competitive man.
we have to look at those countries & study them. lahi sila og history sa ato. example Japan has a very rich history & the people are very different from us. they have pride, while kita daghan pride but murag sabon ra. mawagtang pagmabasa.
we have to look into the future. English & mandarin will be widely spoken.

hinoon discussion raman ning ato, wa najud ni mahimo kay di man ta tagaDep Ed..wahaha
I agree, fluency in English is a big advantage. Especially if you want to work abroad where skills and communication are the main factor.

@payaso mao sad na bai. so basically ang mahimo rajud nato kay "Band-aid" sa problema & not really a solution as they(Dep-Ed) are saying. i was not even very keen on english as the medium instead i prefer FILIPINO, then english on some subjects.

mao lagi bai. maayu unta msaka na ang quality sa atong education. mao ni ang usa nga mgpasaka sa atong nasud in years to come. we have the human resources but sadly we cant exploit it due to lack of quality education.

In this age of globalization, English proficiency is a clear advantage. Why else are the Koreans racing to learn the language? Ask any of them, they'll tell you it makes them more competitive in the jobs market. Same goes for the Chinese.

no one argues about English and globally competitive. what we are talking here is about our students. what is a faster way for them to grasp their lesson.

as i said on my earlier post, English will not be removed in our Curriculum it will only be inserted starting Grade 4.

sa katong nakaagi ug public school ingna kong bakakon pro inyong maestra ngbinisaya pgtudlo ninyo pag elementary.

this issue is only sensationalized bcoz it came from DepEd. where in fact using native tongue happened long time ago.

Nganong call center ug abroad ra man?

Manarbaho nalang daun ug call center kay English ra man ang nahibaw-an.

    Hunahunaa konog ayo.
