Pero I'm not concluding na tinoud gyud, since wala man ko sa maayong position mo-judge nila.
Lets Fight Filipino Ignorance - YouTube
I am not sure kung propaganda ni or naa sad siyay factual evidences.
Ug mataga.an sad ug gahum, mu.abusar.
Unfortunately, some people used the collective dismay of the majority to advance their own interests. These are the opportunists who, having the resources, organized different movements to successfully oust the dictator. These 'organizers' are now those who presently rule the government and huge businesses that lord it over the political and economic horizon in our country. EDSA 1 did not change anything, except the hands that rule it over this country.
That being said, I would venture to say no, nothing changed in the situation of the 'common tao' since the imposition of Martial Law by Marcos. Only the rich opportunists became richer and the gullible poor, poorer. The Filipinos in general, the mindsets of the 'common tao' did not change at all, thinking all will be well after the change of leadership. That was 25 years ago after which the NEW breed of Politicians continued the OLD ways of playing on the gullibility of the people to get themselves into office while the people too went back to the old ways of apathy and political patronage where they vote into office people based on relations and not on capacity. 5 presidents have served since Marcos. The names and affiliations of these presidents speak for themselves. Unless the people themselves realize they are the cause of everything that happens with their choice of leaders in every election, from the president down to the last barangay official, the state of our nation will only be as good as the promises given by these politicians who are voted into office.
That is my opinion. And btw, I lived through martial law, including the time when my dad was under 'surveillance' by the military, not because he was an insurgent or in the opposition (my dad is an artist so he didn't really care about politics) but rather only because he happened to be the son of a prominent leader in the '20s to '40s (imagine?!). That was how insecure the government was back then.

my age is young enough... naminaw ug nag basa ko sah libro.. nag skwela.. ayaw pag binogo dra.
the truth.. after the war. communism is rapidly expanding in asia, communist was one of the major problems in the philippines during the 50's up to the 90's including those pesky mnlf. and the crude oil embargoes implemented by the saudi's during the 70's?? made the collapse of centavos like prices in gas prices (bet you dont know that).. never like the marcos, dont know them. but the martial law?? it was necessary, only it was abused in the later part... mostly by cronies..
give some intelligent post. and ill answer you intelligently. skwela sah lolo. ayaw pagka ignorante dira.. maluoy ka sah sunod nimo generasyon napuno ug "kuno" ang nahibaw-an
^^ you know you're right. The people's attention is always focused on the leader and not those around him - the cronies. So what else is new nowadays? One only has to look at the 'cronies' of even the lowest barangay official and one will see if the leader is truly in control or if he is just a figurehead or worse, a puppet. Reminds me of the current imbroglio Rico Puno of DILG is involved in at the moment.
Marcos' dream for the country was great. But so are the dreams of those before him and those that followed him from Cory up to her son now. But then again, these dreams are made of promises, and promises that remain just that - promises. But we can also add slogans like 'green revolution' or 'Bagong Lipunan' or 'Tuwid na Daan'. Nice sound bites, but reality bites harder and is more painful.
