I'm assuming that you're a guy? I've read that it's not the male's genetic background that affect the possibilities of twins. It's the Female.

There are 2 ways of having twins. If there are multiple eggs that are released by the ovaries, and being fertilized at the same time (non-identical twins), or if the egg splits after fertilization (identical twins). Doctors are still debating if a father's genetic background can affect the possibility of having twins.

but based on what i read, if you want to have twins, you marry a girl who has a history of twins her family tree, and not yours.

TS, google up "TWINS". Many articles state that a man's genetic background DOES NOT affect the possibilities of having twins. It's the woman's genes that trigger the probability. Sorry to say.

Test tube babies are possible though. I have a close friend who has non-identical twins as siblings. They took 2 eggs of the mother and fertilized them and such. The thing about testube babies is that there's always a possibility of one of the babies being 'special', which in her case, the male of the twins (it was a boy and girl) is autistic.

But perhaps technology has opened up better options for this. Talk to your partner's OBGyne. Whenever your partner goes to the OBGyne, you SHOULD be there with her to know how her body is doing and if she is going through complications.
