Nice analogy. Good for you because you can do that to your children. But how do you do that to a family whose children cannot even go to school or have meals on the table as the parents do not have decent jobs? Have you ever met these people? Have you even seen or noticed them? Do you mingle with these people? Mind that these people do not care about what is on the radio, tv, newspapers or internet, whether good news or bad news. They are more concerned of surviving on a daily basis. And mind too that this is not like a small group of people like us here in the internet.

On the other hand, we and those in this forum have access to all these news. We can discern what is good or bad and express our opinion accordingly. But then one has to qualify 'negativism' and how this affects our lives outside of this forum. Criticizing is not exactly being negative. It is seeing and understanding more than what you or the others see. Some just happen to have narrow points of view while others have wider views on matters of interest. Some choose to argue logically, while other prefer appeal to popularity and the 'bandwagon' mentality (and like each others' posts), and worse - several resort to ad hominem just to try and catch attention to their cause.

In the end, whatever we say here, stays here. But I would rather criticize when I need to than just 'go with the crowd' and let things be. This way, the others who also read these forum can judge for themselves what is good or bad in our arguments.

Saon man wala may lain masudlan.
