Default House Bill 6335 seeks to address Nakaw Load

Are you one of those who have been ranting for years about how your prepaid credits vanishes even without having consumed it? There’s hope in sight as a new House Bill is in the works that will address this ongoing issue of load theft or most commonly referred to as ‘Nakaw Load‘.
Under the House Bill 6335, authored by Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Jay Velasco, a cellular-service provider who violates the provisions will be fined Php500,000 for the first offense, P1 million for the second offense, and P5 million pesos for the third offense.

This will also require the cellular-service providers to provide their postpaid and prepaid subscribers a detailed billing report of their consumption on a daily basis. This is also in accordance to the provisions of Republic Act 7925, otherwise known as the “Public Telecommunications Policy Act of the Philippines”.
The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) will formulate the implementing rules and regulations as directed by the bill.
“In doing so, this will protect the welfare of each end-user as consumers and shield them from deceptive, unfair and unconscionable acts and practices,” Rep. Velasco said.
I hope this will put an end to the “Kinain ang load ko!” days when this bill passes into a law.
