    Default About cashing cheques

Anyone here an expert when it comes to cashing cheques sent from abroad?

my situation is like this.... ill be receiving a check by mail from a company in Europe. How do I cash it in our local banks?

Ive called one and the process is that they require that I have a $200 account and the clearance for the cheque will take 45 days.

    Is there a better way?

yup banks usually require that you have a dollar account.

clearing would take 14 working days to 21 working days. holidays not included.

    becareful of post office employees...

checks are usually lost when it reaches the philippine post office.

I suggest you go for online remittance.

I think there was a person who posted also on cheques mailed to her that didn't arrive

She later found out it was encashed already in Luzon if I remember BPI Vigan Ilocus

The problem with the post office.

They can produce Post office I.D. which are accepted by banks...

So They can make an I.D with you name. and Put their FACE on it

One thing also, when you deposited an international check in your bank account here in Philippines, once returned because it was DAIF (Drawn against insufficient fund), apil imong account ma charge.. more or less $20.00 per check....
