Graduating with honors will somehow make your parents be proud of. mao na one of their treasures in life, to see their children in "success", being upright, a model to others.

However, true success in life are not those medals we have collected but those goals we have achieved and fulfilled.

Yes, if sa college, applyan pa. Kapoy nmn mangusog ana uie ky ang uban dugay2x-yon jud. naa gani instances nga ihatag na sa teacher ang grades ninyo unya lahi pud ni reflect sa printed copy, kapoy namn pausab nga sayop ila na record. Medyo sayang sad paminawn imu effort to come up with that grade unya niubos tungod sa typographical error. kapoy nlng sad reklamo ky pa-compute nasad, himo letter to ani to ana, etc... di rmn sad na mag-matter nig work na. bisan gani ang score sa board exam, di nsad mag-matter. As long as pasar ka, naa nkay license, maayo imo performance, pwede sad backeray, etc, mka-work ra gyapon ka. Skills, Knowledge and Attitude nasad dayon basihan for ranking. ahw, sa uban ky seniority.

If elementary and high school, ang adviser na nagkupot sa academic records while members sa administration will weigh the academic performance and those non-academic activities that help the school be known ug unsa pana ila gipangita qualities aside from gradohay.

either ways, aim to be at the top while at school. if maka-work naka, makasulti jud ka "sayuna ba diay atong leksiyon namu sauna, nganu wala man ko naninguha". lahi rajud ang incentives if honor student or student leader or board topnotcher ka. dali ipangapply, dali ma-promote and dali makasaligan.

Wait till you are in the real corporate world.

Sometimes you will be insulted why some middle intellect and non-eligible individuals are given more priorities and promoted faster, compared to some who are really educationally and technically fitted for the job.

Graduating with honors and even being excellent in licensure exams are just a fraction in your ascension of the corporate ladder. A big part of it is being "politically inclined" towards the right persons.

Because even if you are an idiot but important and influential persons are at your back, you could become a manager at the age of 30.

graduating with honors is a big advantage when applying for a job, it's up to you how to use it

i agree with this, i was then an HR practitioner and it adds a heavier weight for those applicants with honors as a very good first impression. Although not true to all, but most of these guys are achievers, willing to learn whom companies are looking for.

I am now even employed in a company which prefers applicants with academic achievements. This is quantitative measurement.

but the chance of landing a job is quite higher for those who excelled academically. I remembered this:

Q: What is your advice for new graduates on how to become successful in their respective fields?

A: Buy a coat and tie, and get the job!
