First in cebu that somebody offering an ITF style or International Taekwondo Federation, this style is a combination of hand and foot. Instructors are both liscence from WTF and ITF.

this is great news! but i just have some questions to ask:

1. Which particular ITF does this belong? Coz there are 3 ITF factions right now
a. ITF based in Vienna, Austria headed by Tranh. In the philippines, this is represented by the
ITF- Philippines headed by Jun Sta Ana 4th Dan . International Taekwon-Do Federation – ITF Philippines

b. ITF based in North Korea headed by Chang Ung. In the Philippines this is represented by the
Philippine ITF Council headed by Noli Espanola

c. ITF based in Canada headed by Choi Jung Hwa.

2. Doesnt the Philippine Taekwondo Association prohibit affiliation of its members with the ITF?

I look forward with ITF here in Cebu coz its a totally different art.... hope some of my questions will be clarified..

This organization in Cebu was belong to GM Choi Jung Hwa, a son of General Choi Hong Hi who is the founder of ITF.

Regarding the affiliation of Philippine Taekwondo Association, of course they wont allow it. The Philippine Taekwondo Assocaion is under the suppervision of World Taekwondo Federation.

hello.. thats exactly my concern. i have trained in PTA and is a member of one of the PTA clubs here in cebu. dili kaha ko mahatagan ug sanction bay if ill train in ITF? kinsa diay nga instructor ang mag teach here sa ITF?

actually last summer i have trained in ITF with Nestor Madelar didto sa YWCA sa Manila. pero ala lang ko mag pa promote kay naa man koy ITF membership.. pero beginner pako hehehe and based on my experience its reli different ( but not necesarily better) than Kukki Taekwondo. Ang ITF style is more appropriately known as Chang Hon Taekwon-do.

Mao jud na main concern if your joining ITF dili jud na mo sugot ang PTA. Naka try naman ka so ul know unsa jud kalainan sa duha.

I’m one of the Officers of The Philippine ITF Taekwon-do Council, The NGB of ITF in the Philippines. I would like to answer your Questions if you will permit.

ITF Style Taekwon-do is a Martial Science which aims to develop the Physical and mental aspects of an individual. It’s Training ways and Methodology separates it from other Martial styles.

They usually call it a Killing Art instead of a Martial Art.

In my personal experience, if somebody should ask me, I would say that ITF Taekwon-do is a Martial art of empowerment.

You have mentioned that ITF has many factions. It is true. They are just Factions because in the end, we are still ITF Brothers.

It is true that a Rule exists that it is prohibited to Train other Tae kwon do styles from other bodies. ITF has the same rule as well as WTF.

In my opinion these are regulations that need to be enforced in order to maintain order in an organization.
For me, as a Taekwon-do Practitioner, I would not let my descisions be influenced by politics, I would follow my heart. This is where one can truly say that he follows the Warriors path because his mind is indomitable, his heart is honest, he has integrity, he has self-control because he has perseverance in his chosen path.

I’ve seen politics destroy Friendship, separate families and put in danger loved ones. I believe that Nolijhon Española is not this kind of person. I mean politically speaking.
PITC promotes an ITF family way. As its motto says” TO UNITE ALL FILIPINOS IN THE SPIRIT OF BROTHERHOOD AND CAMARADERIE THRU THE PRACTISE OF TAEKWON-DO”.
