Where did you get your LX4's and how much did you get them for? The LX4 2.1 without the expanders is 200usd sa U.S.

i actually had the lx4's plus expanders, luckily na guba ang amp ako gi uli then pa refund dayun ko hehehehe imho for 500 box it isnt worth it but they do sound awesome!

bought it @samash, 300 for teh lx4, 200 for teh expanders. price point was when these were just released.

for me Altec speakers sound good becoz of the coloration it qives on the signal it accepts (i.e. enhanced LF signals for Boom and Thud on the Bass) and also because the frequencies are well taken cared of, you seldom hear distortion on the speakers and therefore gives a clear, noise free output...

of course it's not good to be used as reference monitor (because what your hearing isn't really the original signal) but its fit for playback and entertainment (so rock on dude! hihi)... just my two cents though...

just got the M-Audio LX4 2.1 at 200usd.... a bit expensive pero definitely worth it...


I've listened to Logitech Z5500, Klipsch Promedia Ultra ... layo ra gyud ang sound compared to the M-Audio...
It's not intended to fill a huge room with sound pero in terms of accuracy sa sound... very very good... sub and speakers are very powerful
despite the wattage rating.
