I have a friend who was able to grow peppers, tomatoes and other veggies, she only used a disposable plant pot ra, I think a bigger one would be ideal..
This is how to post pictures daw.. it would be nice to keep this thread alive, since I've always loved plants myself..

planting tomatoes in a container is the way to go as far as my experience goes. if you are planing to grow local tomatoes you can start with a seed in a deli cup (small) with 3-5 small holes at the bottom for drainage. plant this by the window with a minimum direct sunlight exposure. wait till about 3 real leaves sprout before transplanting to the container of choice. at this time it needs least 6 hrs full sunlight. usually bears flower/fruit about a month or so, at first it will yield large tomatoes. you have to prune this plant because it will keep on growing rather than bearing fruit. so prune prune 3 times a week. the more you prune the more the plant shunts energy to it fruit bearing. infestation usually gets resolve using ready to spray from stores, i use pantene shampoo but very diluted as to not harm the plant, heck it wont kill the insects or fungus but will discourage them. my fruit are wrap in newspaper just like the way they do the mangoes. just check them once in a while. goodluck.
and oh, keep soil moist all the time. tomatoes love to suck water. so water everyday, pref in the afternoon to minimize evaporation.
