For Catholics: Why Do You Remain Catholic?

Everyone is born religionless. The reason why we think we were born with a religion is mainly because we are born INTO a religion, and this is usually the religion of our parents or whoever took care of us as a child.

but naa man kay option bro to renounce Catholicism if dili ka nag agree sa principles sa Catholic. Just because you were born into it is not a good reason na automatic ma-Katoliko na ka daun. Para nako, Catholicism is a way of living.

Pareho gud sa communism. you call yourself a communist because you live like one and you agree to the principles of communism. Also, you are a Catholic because you live like one and also agree to the principles of Catholicism.

I hope this will not become another Atheist-Theist arguement.

True, ge bunyagan ko ug Catholic pero I have an option to transfer to another religion... or become an atheist like some.

But I have found God or the Power/Presence of God in this religion. I'm not only talking about mumbo jumbo "spiritual" or ideal/emotional... but a physical/actual experience.

The Pope, the organization, the priest are not perfect... but that doesn't mean Roman Catholicism sucks.

It's actually interesting to note that, the reason why the printing industry (invented by Gutenberg) flourished was because the Catholic Church hired printers to print indulgences, so it triggered a boom in printing, and allowed printers to enhance/develop their printing methods, and thus pave the way for printing books, which further spurred the development of scholarly pursuits, eventually spreading rationality and scientific thought across Europe, and spawning new philosophies such as agnosticism and atheism. Ironic, but I guess that's the way things work out sometimes.
