i don't know if unborn babies can appreciate music kay kana word nga "appreciation," mura'g subjective ra na. but i do believe that their developing ears and whatever lobe that is in the brain that processes sounds, can hear vibrations... ma-music ba, ma-heartbeat ba sa mother or unsa ba... nya kanang vibrations mo go through sa amniotic fluid, then somehow amplified na ang sound nga madungog sa fetus. nya sa ako opinion sad, mura mas maayo seguro kung classical dyud ang music kay mas daghan ug variation sa notes ug sa instruments within just a single composition; di preha sa pop music 'ron nga, within one composition, kadaghan sa repetition sa notes, pabalikbalik, nya ma-ihap ra sad ang instruments na ginamit. but with a classical piece, you hear string instruments, winds, brass, percussion, etc. so many different sounds.

from: http://jerryc.tw/forum/viewtopic.php...al+music+smartBasically, the Mozart effect states that frequent exposure to classical music, specifically something like "Mozart's Sonata for Two Pianos in D major" will temporarily increase spatial intelligence as much as 9 IQ points.
My Uncle owns a little video program thing for his son called "Baby Einstein", which is essentially a curriculum for babies to watch and listen (to mainly classical music) to further develop their brains. Amazing how music can affect your brain, I foolishly listened to 2 hours straight of nonstop metal while I took a practice SAT, and my score dropped about 200 points. It wasn't even that loud.
This is pretty cool "According to psychologist Frances Rauscher, Ph.D., and physicist Gordon Shaw, Ph.D., of the University of California at Irvine, after eight months of keyboard lessons, preschoolers showed a 46% boost in their spatial IQ, which is crucial for higher brain functions, such as mathematics.....
One instrument that I find that you could improve your brain power by is the piano. From a foreigner, it may seem nearly impossible to play two completely different melodies at the same time with two hands. I could definetly see how your brain could be affected by playing the piano.
Young adults were also tested. Mozart's "Sonata for Two Pianos in D Major" was found to significantly increase spatial scores of college students on IQ tests when the Sonata was listened to, concluded Rauscher and Shaw in 1993."
OT: naa lagi mga bata (age 10 - ??) ron nga maayo sa music nya bogo sa lain subject.. wakokoko
