Thread: Chinese people

i think frugal would be a better word than tihik. while it may be true to some nga unreasonable na sad jud ang ilang pag spend, or lack thereof, but mostly it is about being frugal. it is understanding that every peso counts..it truly does. you cant have 1 million if you lack 1 peso. it is about investing on assets (things that put money into your pocket) while limiting your expenses (things that takes money out of your pocket)..which makes sense right?

i find it ironic and really funny how we look at chinese. we used to laugh and even mock others because tihik sila, which would eventually ends up admiring and looking up to them because paspas sila moasenso.. hahayz pinoy

well said bro. we all admire them for doing well in business but we "criticize" them for being "tihik" (again, frugal would be a better term). maybe that's one of the disciplines we need to have in order to succeed in business. Look at our top 3 business tycoons..lucio tan, henry sy, john gokongwei..they are all chinese. maybe its about time we learn from them, understand their ways, before we comment on their ways. basta ako, i truly admire them for their business acumen..maka bilib jud.

i have an officemate na very pragmatic. he used to wear branded clothes but hand-me-downs lang from his dad coz d niya feel mogasto bisan unsa kai sayang daw ang money. he doesn't even wana buy car & go some places for a short vacation. but very fat kau ug savings sa bank and he even bought shares from big insurance companies. *sigh* i wanna be like him.

but he's vain lang sometimes for his being coño.

its their work ethic that i really admire and their attitude towards money. no offense to some chinese, but some of them are really not educated, yet what makes them stand out and prosper financially is that they know how to handle money.

we pinoys go to school, finish a degree, get a job, and live a life of a millionare.. one day millionaire to be exact. we dont know the value of money

i totally agree...look at us Filipinos. once we receive our salary on the 15th, mag shopping dayon. even construction workers who doesnt have enough to feed their family...maginom dayon na sila. look at taxi drivers and jeepney drivers...they even have cellphones and yet they dont have enough money to send their kids to school. ambot nalang jud tawn. i think its also because Chinese have a very good sense of "delayed gratification." they would rather invest their money first, create a steady flow of residual income, before they start spneding on the luxuries of life. most of the Filipinos man gud, we just live for the day...no long term planning.

    food for thought:

Money is definitely not the most important thing in our lives...but it sure does affect the most important things in our lives.
