our family owns a small junkshop .... we have a tie up / project with our brgy. "Kwarta Sa Basura Program" ..... we buy their recyclables .... we pay them every 15th and 30th of the month (bi-monthly).... on an average , ( most conservative estimate ) we pay them sixty thousand pesos per fifteen days (Php 60,000.00) ..... a total of one hundred twenty thousand pesos per month (Php 120,000.00) ..... and a grand total of one million four hundred forty thousand pesos (Php 1,440,000.00) for twelve months (a year) ...... we started this project way back in December of 2007 .... My point .... put a price tag on every recyclable as much as possible .... with that .... people will stop seeing them as garbage but as a means of generating income/ money ..... in this manner .... more people will rather start segregating their own trash and sell the recyclables ...... instead of leaving them on the streets and clogging up the drainage .....
discipline....

disciplina ray solution anang garbage problem and put harsh punishments to undisciplined individuals para walay mu sunod. like multa sa throwing of garbage 1st offense: 10,000 php + 3 months in jail/community service. 2nd offence: 30,000 php + 2 years imprisonment, 3rd offense: 50,000 + 5 years imprisonment. oA ra kaayo?
DISCIPLINE and STIFF PENALTIES for offenders as well as STRONG IMPLEMENTATION of the law. as far as we are concerned, our government is not doing anything about this.
