3 ka sigma na gunitan nako so far so good no problems... first ang 70-300 APO DG Macro, 17-70 HSM OS, and 10-20 f4-5.6. wla pako ka try ug Tamron
for Tokina 2 ka lens ako nagunitan, 12-24 DXII and 100mm Macro and both happy sad..
naa lang gyud bad copy nga ma timingan ka pero panagsa ra sad na... pero if you have budget TS go for your brand nlang...
naay sigma na lens (18-200mm lens) among british na sourcing manager pareha mi ug cam nikon D90 pero iyang lens ky puro 3rd party ang problema sa iyang 18-200 kusog daw mokaon ug battery
ug imo i-apil ang tokina, its gonna be tokina all the way (for me). wala gyuy general answer ani, one specific lens will out win over the other pero it doesn't mean na at all times one brand is superior over the other in terms sa quality. like michael said, if budget permits go with your brand. But if this 2 brand lang imo option, basaha sa ang review sa imo paliton na lens before you choose.
If Tokina has a service center in the Philippines, it's actually a pretty good brand. I held two (not mine), 11-16 2.8 and the 50-135mm 2.8 and the build quality blows the consumer lenses of either Nikon or Canon. Sadly, wala sila service center sa Pinas (heck I read that even in the USA, it took 2 months to get spare parts from Japan).
Like you I also limited my options to either Tamron or Sigma because they have service centers in Manila. I went for Tamron because it's the cheaper of the two and I also don't like Sigma's rubbery coating.
IQ wise nindot man Tamron (I'm sure same for Sigma). Wala ko mahay ako 28-75 2.8. I doubt anyone can tell the difference between the Canon 24-70 and the shots I took with this lens

Of course, I cannot compare the build quality and weather-seal features of the L lenses. We get what we pay for.
I guess the best answer I could give you is to try out comparative lenses of Tamron and Sigma, shoot the same subject using all apertures at same focal lengths (if zoom) and compare at home before you make the decision. Consider also handling (comfortable ba sa imong kamot). And lastly, warranty sa tindahan
Salamat sa mga inputs ninyo sirs and maams, actually, I have nifty fifty and a sigma 70-300 lenses. Murag nahasolan naman noa ko mg cge ilis2x sa lens oi. Lately, nalabyan nko ang Tamron AF 18-250mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II ASP (for Canon) and nangita ko sa iyang sigma counterpart and landed on this one Sigma 18-200 DC OS HSM (for Canon) .. ako gi compare sila mas cheaper ang Tamron. Nakapangutana ko sa usa ka shop and they prefer Sigma in terms of quality daw so medyo na confuse ko. In my part sad, murag OK ni sila ky murag dili nako mg cge ilis2x ug lens ani every time naa ko lakaw especially if mka attend ug mga seminars,
If kamo, asay maau in terms of price and quality
Tamron AF 18-250mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II ASP
Sigma 18-200 DC OS HSM
Thanks
for us sony (a-mount and nex) users, tamron mas duol sa among kasing-kasing, some sony lenses mn gd kay rebadged tamrons, so it figures, nindot sd gyd ug quality ug barato pa. kasagaran ako mabasahan kay naay QA issues ang sigma, dili tanan, but its there, so naa na 2nd thoughts whenever ma consider ang sigma kay basin ma-timingan. xD
Bro you might want to check tamron 18-270. I read before that its better than tamron 18-250 in terms of IQ
