Basing it from CHEd rankings, best jud ang USC especially in engineering, business degree programs, accountancy, hospitality management, architecture, fine arts (cinematography, fashion design, interior design, advertising, etc.), psychology.
USC! Undoubtedly! Famous products of USC are the following:
Atty. Augusto W. GO, owner of University of Cebu. (so odd..)
Sergio Osmena Sr., second president of the Philippine Commonwealth
Hilario Davide Jr., former Chief-Justice of the DOJ
John L. Gokongwei, owner of CebuPac and Robinsons Malls
Marcelo Briones Fernan, former senator and Chief-Justice of the DOJ
Julia R. Gadionco, owner of the Julie's Bakeshop franchises
Alvin Garcia, former mayor of Cebu City
Michael Acebedo Lopez, Paneloist of ABS-CBN's show The Bottomline and one of the owner's of Acebedo optical
Sergio Osmena III, current senetor of the Philippines
Raul Del Mar, congressman of the first district of Cebu
The products speak for itself. Currently 7th of the Top Performing Universities in the Philippines.
I personally don't believe that the ultimate basis on the performance of the school is in the students and the students alone. It can be a factor, though. Taking it to consideration an example like, UP - Cebu. Students are without a doubt, cognitively intelligent but how come the school flunked in the rankings? The school/university should be the primary basis on it's performance and the products it produces. I would be more convinced if the school would accept a below average student and eventually graduate becoming an above-average student. That shows that the university became effective and conducive towards learning. USC produces leaders and business executives, apparently.![]()
