Steve Nash said he's eager to meet with the Mavericks if they miss out on Deron Williams. Last week, Nash talked about a return to Dallas. He said of the Mavericks: "Everyone knows they're going to go after Deron Williams. He's a terrific player, a lot younger than I am, and that'd be the smart thing for them to do. But if they don't get him, maybe I'll be a candidate there as well. It's a great city. It's one that obviously I have a history with and an affinity and affection for, so it's another opportunity different from Toronto but one that's exciting and has some great facets to it as well. Stein also asked about the contentious nature of Nash's Dallas exit in 2004. Nash said: "That's so far in the past. For me that's not really a factor."

2012 NBA free agency -- Deron Williams will meet with Dallas Mavericks, then Brooklyn Nets - ESPN

ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard reported Sunday that Williams remains "torn" by the difficult decision, but the 28-year-old remains on course to choose his destination by Independence Day so he can report to Team USA training camp in Las Vegas on July 5.

The Nets' meeting with Williams will following a morning sitdown with free agent point guard Steve Nash, according to sources close to the process.

Mavs sales pitch to D-Will is over.. with Donnie Nelson, Coach Rick, and Michael Finley. Good thing is that Finley is now part again on the Mavs organization but hated him for getting his ring in SAS.. anyways, hope they made a great pitch to D-Will..
