Because we're conditioned to believe women are 'special' even more so than men in mind and soul. In fact they're just ordinary people probably lesser than you and I inwardly even mentally. I know, its rather cynical way of viewing our biological partners but it helps explain why divorce is on the rise, single parents or even single people in general. People can't accept each other anymore because their standards are too high and that they believe they "deserve better" and unfortunately they end up in somebody's room as statistic.
