Nokia CEO calls multi-core processors a waste of battery life

Haha. He's just defending nokia's poor position now. Phones are not just phones today. They even serve as portable gaming consoles. To limit it to single core just because of battery life is a poor excuse. Just make better batteries then.

I personally think Nokia has made a good decision in choosing WP. Nokia's market share has been steadily shrinking even before Elop became CEO. Symbian was a dying platform and would have eventually dragged Nokia into the ground even faster. If Nokia chose the Android route, they'd be competing with Samsung, HTC, LG, ZTE, Huawei, and a half a dozen more Android OEMs. Nokia would be crushed by Samsung in the Android spec-race, since the latter manufactures its own LCD/LED screens and chips. Samsung's dominance in terms of economies of scale and lower prices due to its manufacturing capacity would leave no room for an Android Nokia.

WP, on the other hand, gives Nokia a chance to explore an entirely different market. It may be a small market, and its present size has forced Nokia to downsize, but there is no doubt WP will grow and Nokia will be leading the platform. Microsoft, as it handled X-box, will not let WP fail, because it is very much aware that mobile consumption is the future. Microsoft has a LOT of money, and it will continue to inject such money into Nokia so as to not lose its small but steadily growing foothold on the mobile scene. Wp8, with its integration with other MS services, will even the playing field for Nokia. If Nokia survives this difficult transition year, it will recover and will be a forced to be reckoned with once again.

The worst that could happen is that Nokia will go bankrupt within the year, but then again, MS will no doubt buy them out, and Nokia will live on.

for me a good fone is where u can go VOIP on all calls using an ordinary sim to lessen call cost...specially calling abroad.

that would be a great breakthrough.

nindut man gyud ang windows phone OS kay grabe ilang optimization with the hardware specs... mao smooth kaau ilang experience...
pero dili pa sure na ma.lupigan gyud sa WP and android... depende sad ni... wa ta kahibaw ma.pareha sa symbian ang android... xD

pero ang skype man gud bro need paka palit ug Balance para ma gamit ang service. ang nindot jud nga application is integrate ang GSM technology sa VOIP. like ang imu ordinary load ma convert into a Balance for any VOIP software.

like for example dri sa KSA kung mag internet ka using an Android fone, imu ordinary load would be converted into DATA LOAD=Balance. di kau dako ang juha compared diha sa Pinas nga kung mag NET ka, papas jud imung 200PHP.

so ug naay VOIP CALLS na using ordinary LOAD, then that would be great for consumers and telecommunications users.

pro if connected ka sa net kai free ra man ang video call sa skype so side na man guro na sa mga telecommunication companies unsaong pag package ug data plan mka live ra ko video call if libre ra sa data

yes free ang video call sa Skype pero i mean mobile number to another mobile number using VOIP technology. sa una nako nga company..gamit mi ug ASTERISK nga server. tanan namu calls from landline or mobile fone gi route namu sa VOIP server. and we are calling long distance calls to another landline or mobile number. so with this tech scheme naka save mi sa amo calls. cheaper man gud ang VOIP calls. basin imu pagsabot VOIP= SKYPE. lol....


di sad practical nga ang ordinary consumer like manindahay ug mani need pa ug Skype diba?
