by the way, i used to be a nokia user for almost 10 years before swithcing to android & iOS... okey ra man unta ning nokia if dili pa si stephen elop ang CEO... now, daku kaayu apasonon ang nokia kay grabe ang rise sa android & iOS. kini iyang recent statement about multi cores a waste of battery life, sakto siya. but again, in a wrong time coz for me, he is just trying to cover up his shortcomings as Nokia CEO.

Nokia boss Stephen Elop: why we dropped MeeGo | News Articles | Mobot.net

Stephen Elop's Nokia Adventure - BusinessWeek

    quote from the article:
The piece also confirms that Elop had first approached Google about adopting Android, but had backed off because Google wasn't prepared to give Nokia preferential treatment over even its smallest partners, which would have left Nokia's 11,600 engineers with little scope for adding their innovations to the base Android platform.

bitaw single core can ran android effeciently as of this time, since the apps for now is not extensive enough. but a better GPU and ram/rom bec it runs mostly on grafix intensively..

His statement only makes sense for people looking for a basic phone. If you want an all-in-one phone/media-consumer/gaming-platform, it's a load of b.s.

He's just trying to sell the "a phone is a phone" argument, hoping the consumer forgets that the mobile phone platform has long since left that state.

A phone right now is a music player, a video player, a personal organizer, a web browser, a gaming platform, a mobile office - basically your own personal computer, but completely mobile and pocketable (finally!). So more cares make more sense.

To be frank, the latest smart phones are a former PDA-lover's dream of over a decade ago. When the Galaxy Note came out, with the stylus, the large screen and the focus on handwriting recognition, it was a dream come true for many.

Woz: Windows Phone is 'beautiful,' Android 'no contest,' still loves iPhone, ask again tomorrow -- Engadget

the Apple co-founder was all too happy to share his recent positive experiences with the Espoo / Redmond collaboration. In particular, Woz waxes about how intuitive the interface is, and how naturally apps lead you around. He goes on to say how there's nothing he's seen that isn't more beautiful (than iOS and Android) on the Windows system, before claiming Android is "no contest" when it comes to the interface.
