GOV. Gwen Garcia now ranks 29th in a recent Pulse Asia survey of senatorial candidates Garcia landed in the 45th spot last December.
The question posed on the May 20-26 Ulat ng Bayan nationwide survey using face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adults was: “If the 2013 elections were held today, who in this list would you vote for senator? Choose only 12 names.”

The governor’s name was included in the list of 44 names with 31 names above her and 12 names below her.
‘Good sign’
Garcia ranks higher than “whistleblower” Rodolfo “Jun” Lozada Jr.; Deputy Speaker Lorenzo Erin Taņada III; actress Alma Moreno; Bayan Muna Rep. Teddy Casiņo, among others.
Capitol consultant Rory Jon Sepulveda said jumping 16 places is a good sign, considering that the governor has only been exposed in specific areas in the country and not nationwide.
“Aware ang mga tawo sa recent announcement (nga) i-consider ang atong kandidato (People can now consider Garcia as a candidate for the Senate),” Sepulveda said.
Although the election is still a year off, he hopes Garcia’s popularity will continue to rise, especially when her camp embarks on a more aggressive promotion in the nationwide mainstream media.
