Are you sure this would never affect a child's idealogy? Your making it too benign and harmless, I'm not pointing about a comic book, it's about the media. Creating a homosexual character hero is okay, it's been here for decades for a rated and limited edition comic release. But CHANGING a "once straight" mainstream hero to a fag is absurd.

As far as I'm concerned, the Alan Scott I know is still straight. This new version of Alan Scott is the re-launched version, which DC has only featured in the comics so far. In fact, all the pre-DC relaunch characters' history still stands.

Other posters have already posted information about LGBT characters from Marvel and DC. Can you post information if these characters actually turned a straight kid gay?

Documentaries/blogs/articles of kids being gay due to Comic book heroes can't yet be presented. Why?

Because most relaunched gay comic heroes are funneled into limited series release or underground comic release (not suited for Children). Meaning kids won't have direct access to these. So there hasn't been a record of it causing problems to minors.

But Green Lantern is a Type-A, wide media-based Character which is followed by Millions of Children (unlike Northstar, UC or Shatterstar). The dispute is based on how this is going mainstream. Homosexual heroes going to kiddy comics, Marvel TV series, Movies, kid's DC/Marvel apparels like shoes, bags, t-shirts. Picture the consequences.

We do agree that homosexual heroes have existed before, but they are not that mainstream. This is a different story, Green Lantern is a big character, millions of kids follow/ idolize him.

They are trying to indoctrinate impressionable young minds by placing these gay characters on pedestals in a positive light. Now you are telling us we are homophobics? These moms and dads who wished their kids to grow up straight.
They are heavily influencing our youth by using children's superheroes to desensitise and brainwash them into thinking that a gay lifestyle choice is normal and desirable.

Who buys his 5-year-old son comics with explicit content? There are a lot of things out in the world that can make one gay. If ur son chooses to be gay--you can't help it--it's his choice. I've been reading comics with characters for a long time now. So far, I don't have homosexual tendencies. Let's just hope that your son--if he does turn up gay--he doesn't get bashed by someone like his father.
