Unfortunately most people don't even have enough self-discipline to put their trash in a waste bin so expecting active participation from the majority of citizens over tree planting is not likely. Consider this...do you think people would take a test and obtain a driving license if it wasn't mandatory? Do you think they would do that voluntarily because it's a good idea? I'm pretty sure they wouldn't and I have observed that as far as progress is concerned most people need to be pointed in the right direction and told exactly what needs doing. Motivated, free-thinking responsible individuals are in short supply.

I'm sure trees will die down in the long run as taking care of it is never a compulsory. A proposed law that is easy to circumvent and another milking cow of the government. I doubt if securing an affidavit of compliance is free of charge.

Useless bill. Go for strict implementation of solid waste management. I am not against planting of trees but this should be an activity for students.

I remember when I was in high school the DENR had a program in our town where they planted thousands of mahogany and gmelina seedlings unya after a few months naay mga empleyado sa DENR nga mao mismo ang mopatay sa ila gitanom para ma-declare nila sa ila report nga gamay ra ang nabuhi unya ngayo na pod ug budget for the succeeding year nga program. If the Gov't. is really serious and sincere about its reforestation programs I think this bill is unnecessary.

    Good idea and worthy cause.

Hope they will not forget the "follow-up" part.
The bigger question is have we nurtured it right after planting it?

Again, this bill is unnecessary and shall never be a requirement to those people who aren't really serious in taking care for the environment. Don't get easily swayed with "good for the environment" campaign. Take a deep thinking.

There are schools, groups, companies, public and private sectors and even individuals who are doing reforestation and are really serious about it. These people should be given incentives. DENR has also this National Greening Program. So what's this bill for?

    lol

This is a bill to try and win over the environmentalists. You want a bill that will truly help the environment? Make stronger and stricter legislation against deforestation and make sure to protect more forests lands. Don't let our legislators fool you with this bill.
