Many people have been wondering what Google’s Project Glass is all about, and some recent images and a 15 seconds video may provide some insights into Google’s motive. There’s no doubt that Google is putting its financial backing into the technology that it’s trying to cram into the diminutive eyewear, so I expect the gadget to be something geeks everywhere to drool over. For the time being, however, Google is working the imagination of bystanders as they watch beta tester strut around teasing people with their Google Glass. Augmented reality sounds awesome, and apparently Google is trying to deliver that in a tiny (and hopefully, fashionable), package. The thought of waking up and completing all my computer related tasks by slapping on my glasses is just too good to be true. Perhaps Google will fulfill many geeks’ fantasy. The Glass Project team posted some pictures on their Google+ profile, so head over there and check them out for yourself. The picture quality is nothing to rave about, and any decent smartphone can easily take higher resolution shots than the Google Glass. But how can you say taking a POV shot as you walk, hands free, isn't cool?

On the subject of POV, here's the latest video of the Google Glass at work recording a video. The 15 second video is nothing special in terms of quality, but--again--how do you resist the POV aspect of it? For those people who love video blogging their lives, this little piece of incomplete tech is gold. Although I was disappointed by the fact that I wasn't able to see any of the UI interface that the initial promo video showed off earlier last month.
