I think nag update pana... kay dili naman nah MARKET... ipa update lang ang market to GOOGLE PLAY... but if you're problem is that your tab can't see your wifi hotspot... try resetting the tab by using the reset pinhole... if no go... then you might end up returning the tab for a replacement or repair...

not the pinhole yet, save it for the last option. i just had and experience with my sister's cherrypad this morning. the wifi access automatically turned "off", what i did was Reset back to Factory Settings [settings -> privacy -> Reset Factory Settings]. and the wifi works properly again. do try this procedure, it works on me.

I bought my cherrypad turbo last feb and everything worked great for a couple of weeks. Last march I noticed that the battery life has deteriorated. First few weeks the battery could last upto 5hours with wifi off. I used this for reading ebooks. When I used it for browsing the net I usually get around 1 and a half hours of battery life. The brightness of the screen was set to 1/4 in order to save battery life. A month or so after my battery life dramatically decreased from 5hours to about 2 hours and lately the battery life will only last up to 30 minutes and sometimes even less.

I went to their service center awhile ago to have this fixed and brought with me the receipt and warranty card. They had me fill out some form and told me it will take 2 months for them to fix the tablet since they have to send it to manila. I was shocked to hear that it took that long to repair this thing, anyway I told them that I was ok with it since I had no choice. She also informed me that I wasn't the first customer to have their cherrypad turbo fixed with that problem. She told me that it was a common problem with the cherrypad turbo.

After I filled out the form the front desk clerk brought the unit inside their office and after a couple of minutes got out and told me that the warranty was already void since the QC sticker was gone. I told her that the sticker went off since I had sweaty hands and I usually touched that part of the tablet. She then responded that she couldn't do anything since there manila office won't accept the warranty without the QC sticker. I told her that the saleslady who sold me the tablet never told about how important that QC sticker was for the warranty. She still insisted that it was still void since it was there policy even though they didn't inform me about it. I was so disgusted that I left their office without inquiring about how much it would cost me to fix the tablet.

Anyway this is just my experience and I'm sure that their are a lot of users here who are happy with their tablet. Personally I was ok with the tablet if only the battery wasn't defective. Another thing I must point out is the after sales and customer support of cherry mobile is terrible. I never expected it to be the same as Apple or Samsung but to void my warranty for a stupid sticker which will easily come off is just plain dumb. I had a receipt to prove the date of purchase and warranty but they still wanted a sticker.

When I purchased this tablet I never expected it to last 5 years or even 2 years. I was hoping that it would reach at least a year but less than 3 months is a joke. I wouldn't have posted anything here had they honored the warranty. The product could have been great had the batteries lasted a year. What made it worse was their lousy service center. So for those who already have a cherrypad turbo take care of that QC sticker, laminate it or place a protective layer on top of it so that it won't come off. You may never know when you'll need to use that warranty. For those who are thinking of buying a cherrypad turbo, ask the sales lady for any details of their warranty. Better yet save your money and purchase a reliable tablet from an establish company such as Apple, Samsung, Blackberry Asus or Acer. At least you are guaranteed by these companies to have great customer service and quality products. As for me, I will never buy another cherry mobile gadget. I just wasted P6,899 for a useless gadget which didn't last 3 months.

My experience with the Cherry Pad Turbo was not so great. I bought it sometime last Nov 2011 and now I wish I hadn't.

    Here are the reasons why:

    • Lots of defects - When I bought it, I had to return it 3x just to get a descent item and that was really a waste of my time and gas. The first one had defective housing, the 2nd one had defective screen and last one had a defective power and reset switch. (for the 3rd time, I was sent to the service center in QC Pav.)
    • Repair lasts in months - last 03/12 It got sent to manila due to a defective system board and was told that I would be around 1-2months before I could get it back. Quoting the service center personnel, only minor repairs can be done locally in Cebu.
    • Battery life not good - With a maximum cap of only 4-5 hrs (NO WI-FI, screen down to 40% brightness, Background data off, No running widgets, etc..), that would mean that movie watching is limited to 1-2 full ones before you need to find an outlet. The juice got sucked out even faster while playing games as it lasted only around 2.5-3hrs in my case.
    • Better options in the market - As more options hit the shelves (Samsung, Motorola, ASUS, Acer, Lenovo, etc..), you begin to ask yourself if this is really a good decision for even the budget conscious peeps like me.
    • No Upgrades -I haven't heard or seen any official news that this device will actually be getting any OS Upgrades. If someone does have a link or a custom cooked rom with ICS (Android 4) please do post the link and/or instructions on how to go about it.
    • Homescreen/Launcher So and So - Limited options are available for the homescreen. One example is that the no. of screens in particular are not customizable as far as I know. The market icon (w/c is Impt!) in my case, seems to constantly get lost or removed and I don't even know why. UI Animations of the homescreen were not smooth as I wished it was. This meant that I really had get another homescreen like "GO" in google play (formerly Market) to go beyond the limitations of customization.

Just my 2 cents, If you can cough up enough buck, go for a more reliable option that can make your heart sing because there is just no PRICE for an everyday "peace of mind" in our modern digital life.

This was my first cherry mobile device and as they say, First impressions lasts...
