Default Are people in Cebu more patriotic than people in Manila?

i just love singing "Lupang Hinirang" in Cebuano - the Yutang Tabonon. u see, half of the words in Lupang Hinirang are difficult to speak and what is "pasisiil"?

anyway, history tells us that the national language was imposed on us by Manuel L. Quezon during the 1930s (site). it was supposed to be in answer to the great language barrier in a country whose inhabitants has over a hundred languages. what was needed was a common language with which they could communicate with each other and express themselves as a people of one nation. Quezon pushed for Tagalog to be the one.

but then again, the key words there are supposed to be. the language diversity continues as Filipinos still had not accepted a national language at the expense of their regional languages more than 14 decades since its implementation.

maybe the best we can do is to start thinking of ourselves as Filipinos first and then Cebuanos, Ilocanos, Bikolanos, Tagalogs second.

WAY JUY GUSTO MAG FARMER!! So respect for our country transcends beyond the customary salute to our national anthem!
Wala koy ika comment na bati bahin nimo bai because I learned a lot from you . Pero saying mag nars ko , comp engineer , IT , Japayuki etc does not make you not PATRIOTIC anymore . Just because you lived overseas means that you dont love your motherland anymore . Being PATRIOTIC is displayed into a lot of factors not limited to have a PURE FILIPINO name , WORK in the PHILIPPINES etc but the way I see it the most prestige honor of being patriotic other than giving honors to the flag is not hiding your IDENTITY like :

    - I am a US citizen but I still stop at flag ceremonies and colors of the country . Why ? Because I can say that I dont care becaue I am a blue passport holder but because of my IDENTITY that cannot be taken from me . Until I die , PINOY lang gihapon ko no matter what .

-------------> Now this is not PATRIOTIC , a Cebuano BALIKBAYAN who happens to live in the US for a couple of years and eraned minimum wage forgets the cebuano dialect already and acts like he or she is very WESTERNIZED . That is not patriotic because he or she forgot where he or she came from .

    - A coworker asked me where I am from / came from and I answered him straight from the island of Cebu of the Republic of the Philippines w/c by the way I do have an option of answering him instead of " I came from / I am from So California where I lived close to 10 years .

--------------> Now this is not PATRIOTIC , say a FIlipino immigrant is being asked by someone not FIlipino and answers in a manner like you were actually born in the US .

    - I coordinated my actions of communications . If I am talking to a FIlipino , I talk in tagalog beause it is the universal language of the Filipinos . If I am talking to a non FIlipino , I talk in english because it is the universal language of the world

---------------> Now this is not PATRIOTIC , say an ILOKANO and a TAGALOG conversating in english .... dont you feel ashame of urself because what if someone that is not a FIlipino over hears them ? Hasta ako damay .

Daghang patriotic na wala sa lugar. Big turn offs! I hate people like that, arrogants and over bearing. And I encounter a lot of them but at their sight.... I quickly hide, hehe.

Come August, I will become a Dutch citizen, but I AM NOT GIVING UP MY PHILIPPINE CITIZENSHIP. I am glad that I can have dual citizenship.

So, do I sound patriotic, or just practical?
