It has been revealed during GIGABYTE's Plug Fest 2012 event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia that the motherboard maker is planning to introduce no less than three new motherboards to market featuring Thunderbolt connectivity.
One of the slides displayed during brief talks about the upcoming boards gave a look at the rear I/O panel of one of the models which clearly showed a residing Thunderbolt + mini DisplayPort connector; this alongside standard DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI, D-Sub and the other usual connectors.
As well as providing up to 10 Gb/s of throughput and the ability to daisy chain up to six high bandwidth devices alongside a display, the slides depict that the Thunderbolt connector will also be wired to the Flexible Display Interface (FDI) which will allow one to use CPU-integrated Intel HD 4000/2500 graphics along with discrete graphics over LucidLogix Virtu MVP.
No official word as yet on when the new Thunderbolt equipped models will arrive.
