i think an engagement ring is more of an assurance (for the women) rather than a necessity. It's but a symbolism of a love strengthened through a renewed promise before they even get further into getting married. However, I really don't see yet the practicality of this trending custom. Love should go beyond what material things can offer and signify. And for one thing though, the ring cannot fully guarantee you marriage. It will always be the reason of where your relationship was founded on, that will matter the most in the end. Just my opinion...

NO!... not practical... but if you can afford then go (like you have lots of money)... but then if dili... then use it for the wedding, or for a start... like palit stuff that are needed... really needed... kai ang engagement ring it belongs to the classification of wants and not needs... hehehe... ika nga symbol... hehehe...
