changed the OS of my mini-ITX rig from Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (64 bit) to Ubuntu Studio 11.10 (64 bit)... para ari ko mag kuri2x sa in-house studio recording... connect pud nko ang work station keyboard... lingaw2x ra... this is a hobby and time killer nako dri...

as of this moment, nag install pa ang Ubuntu Studio... yey...


update... completed the Unbuntu Studio 12.04 LTS (64 bit) upgrade... its up & running now on the mini-ITX...

new ubuntu user here. I'm planning to install this on my new cafe setup. I'm using right now the 12.04 lts 64bit on my personal rig. My problem is when installing wine to run windows games, naa may issue. =( is it possible ba ubuntu in my cafe? thanks! more power!

...Bro, we don't actually recommend a windows games be emulated at the Linux box using wine or crossover because, it won't give 100% satisfaction to all the users. Maglagot na sila once in the middle of a Game mukalit lag crash ang System sa games over the Wine or crossover. Because dili 100% ang emulator is built for the Games not unless kung Word processing docs lang, kay ang games dako kaaU ug requirements sa resources labi na sa graphics which is Wine or Crossover could not give enough, so the tendency, once na ma depleted na ang resources mo-kalit lang na ug ka crash ang System sa Wine so, imbis ang mga Users nalingaw, maglagot na sila noon tungod kay na interrupt ang ilang duwa. So, kung mag mantinir ka ayaw lang ing-ani nga setup because, dili jud ni ideal para sa imong business, not unless kung Windows direct baremetal imong setup not magbanig ka under Linux, not only lag kaaU but also ma-crash pajud. So, my friendly advise is to setup a a low cost CPU pero ang video card 1GB ddr3 bahala ang imong proc is Celeron B815 (<<panigtaa na nga proc, low cost pero astig na processor) basta enough lang ang memory maka handle ug ddr3 type and 4GB mem capacity thats fights na.

thanks sa imo info bro. i have 20 units brandnew and 10 are running genuine windows 7 but the other 10 is trial period. thanks again bro

hmm using Ubuntu in your cafe is not bad, pero most average computer users are more adept with using windows programs mn gd.. so lisud gamitun ang Ubuntu as your OS sa imung cafe

...yes i agree on you @Darkbyte. Most of the games were built on Windows. So, lisod kaaU kung linux ang imong OS, that would not make sense kung imong i-emulate arun lang mudagan. Actually, wasted ra kaaU ang mga resources na wala kaaU mautilize sa games. mass maaU pa magpa member ka sa ICAC arun matagaan ka ug mga discounts sa license na Windows OS. then, make a pakulo para naa sad kay ROI sa imong business after a certain period sa imong projection.

ubuntu or linux for the matter kay para sa mga ganahan mo "think and work outside the shell"... ang uban, dili sila ganahan kay preferred nila ang window based OS and apps... samot sa games... just stick with Window OS for your PCs sa cafe then continue gamit sa ubuntu para sa imoha rig bro...

for the file server, Ubuntu Server OS will do... ganahan ko mo try aning Ubuntu Server 12.04 LTS pud... mag pabarog unya ko ug lain rig para ani... hehehe... maka share dri ang mga dugay na nagamit aning Ubuntu Server OS...

nalingaw ra ko kuri2x sa Ubuntu Studio 12.04 LTS... wla pa nako gi connect ang work station keyboard... sa software sa ko nag kuri2x gabi-i... hehehe...

@lloyd_joy, gamit diay ka sa Ustudio brad naa ka recording studio or kurikuri lang. gamit ko ana kadali ra pod kay pwede ra man gud matweak ang ubuntu para recording gamit lowlatency kernel.
