Penguin update is very specific on On-page factors of your site ( keywords(keywords on content and codes), content and especially backlinks- incoming links and anchor text coming from other sites). Assess your site's performance - traffic, web ranking if experience kag drop then look for those factors. Go for methods that promote organic link building... at least do it for your customers and business not for google alone.
