PAETA BASTA PILDI DAGHAN AU REKLAMO KUNG SILA NI CHAMPION MO INGON NGA FAIR RA ANG OFFICIATING... PURBIDA!!!

The Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters wish to congratulate the B-MEG Llamados for their Commissioner’s Cup finals victory, but top executives of the team are not about to let go of the issue of what they say was poor officiating during the deciding Game Seven.

The team is planning to send a letter to the PBA questioning the foul called by referee Jun Marabe on Talk ‘N Text forward Kelly Williams against B-MEG import with 1.7 seconds remaining.

Manuel V. Pangilinan, owner of the Tropang Texters, clarified that the team is not seeking a reversal of the result.

“May karapatan kang magsalita kung feeling mo agrabyado ka. Ano, tatahimik na lang kami? Hindi naman tama yun,” he said.

(InterAKTV is part of InterAksyon.com, the online news site of TV5, which is chaired by Pangilinan.)

Talk ‘N Text executive Ricky Vargas questioned the call, saying that similar contact in other situations have been let go.

“Ang problema dun, yung consistency. They have not called that in the past, kasi nga, no harm, no foul,” said Vargas.

“If you look at the videos, there are many instances when they don’t call that as a foul. Bakit nila tinawag yun and with 1.2 seconds to go?”

Prior to the start of the series, PBA commissioner Chito Salud said that officiating will be a “non-issue” in the series, adding that complaining about calls is “a waste of time and energy” while promising that “the referees will call the games down the line.”

But Vargas said the team is seeking concrete changes to officiating the games, which include the following steps:

    The use of most seasoned referees;
    A clear definition from the Commissioner over what constitutes a foul;
The use of video playback to review questionable calls, especially at crucial times

But beyond that, Vargas insinuated that results of the games may be manipulated by external forces, such as gambling.

“There is gambling and all that, we just cannot prove it. But we all know it. If there’s such a thing, then let’s just be open about it para sa ganon hindi na-i-impluwensya yung laro or sitwasyon sa gametime.”

Pangilinan, for his part, said that officiating in the PBA is an issue that hasn’t seen any improvement.

“I’ve been here many years, frustrated. Parang walang nangyayari for the past 12, 13 years, nothing much has changed,” he said, adding that it’s a challenge for the PBA leadership to implement rules fairly

daghan na ang nahitabo sulod sa 12 years sa PBA..Lopsided trade is one of them and TNT are among the teams that benefit from it..so accept the fact that BMEG defeated TNT...They said na dapat meron rules about replay on crucial calls...then take a look on the replay, foul jud si williams and he knew it.. congrats BMEG!

Consider this: Bmeg down by 2 pts.

Assuming: There is a foul against tnt.

Question 1: Would you call the foul or not?

    Scenario 1: Foul not called

    conclusion 1: Tnt champion.

    Scenario 2: Foul called

conclusion 2: Fouled party has to make 2 ft. To tie
next possession has 1.2 sec. For tnt to win.

Bottomline: By making the right call, you give the two parties equal chances of opportunity to win. Even if the call is borderline "let go", making the right call doesn't assure the other party of the win. It has to make 2/2 ft to tie the game. Also, it also gives the protagonists extra 5min. Of playing time should an ot occur.

Question 2: Is there a foul?

    Answer: Yes.

    Question 3: Why?

Answer: Defender did not observe the verticality rule for it not to merit a
    foul.
Defender should be in position first before offensive player.
Offensive player's shot was affected due to the foul.

No signal in Laoag? Talk ‘N Text players fail to show up for All-Star Weekend

The PBA’s annual All-Star Weekend is set to kick off in Laoag City, but there has been a conspicuous absence of a contingent from the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters.

Officials of the PBA were expecting members of the team to arrive for the event yesterday, but no one from the squad showed up.

Jimmy Alapag, Kelly Williams, and Japeth Aguilar were slated to play in the Veterans versus Rookies-Sophomores-Juniors game, while Ranidel De Ocampo was part of the lineup for the Greats versus Stalwarts matchup.

Talk ‘N Text coach Chot Reyes, who was tapped to lead the Veterans squad, had earlier begged off from All-Star duties because of commitments involving the MVP Sports Foundation and the SMART-Gilas Pilipinas national program.

Alapag had been expected to beg off from the event, since he was dealing with two of his family members in critical health conditions.

According to one source close to the Talk ‘N Text camp, the players were asked by management not to participate in the weekend.

Another source, speaking on condition of anonimity, said that Talk ‘N Text management had ordered the team to go on vacation, including coaches and officials. Talk ‘N Text team manger Aboy Castro is reportedly in the United States.

The no-show comes as top team officials remain miffed about the officiating in the Tropang Texters’ Game Seven loss to the B-MEG Llamados.

“May karapatan kang magsalita kung feeling mo agrabyado ka. Ano, tatahimik na lang kami? Hindi naman tama yun,” said team owner Manuel V. Pangilinan.

The team has filed a letter to the PBA complaining about the officiating in the game. According to team executive Ricky Vargas, is seeking concrete changes to officiating the games.
