Pet shop that determines a dog's breed?

My little brother got a puppy from his classmate and claimed it was a mix of Labrador and an Akita.

I have my doubts since I know Labs RARELY bear pups with browns spots. According to another friend, Akitas also RARELY have spotted pups kay she said something about Akitas being royal breeds of dogs.

There are too many factors like was the parents really pure breed dogs? Was it mistaken for another breed? Is it spotty due to the recessive genes?

I don't want my (idiot) little brother fooled by his classmates.. and besides, my mum grew fond of the doggy... It's one month old (DAW)

Any help would be fine. Thanks in advance~

this is a common dilemma on buying mix breeds from unreliable sources
to determine if the buyer's pronouncement (on the parent's breeds) is indeed true or not

if i am you, and since its already a done transaction,
ill probably just wait for a few months more
and see the pup at his/her adult looks.
because soon, the puppy will shed off his "cuteness"
and the real adult looks/features will come out na afterwards.
by that time, you will have a clue na which breed he really belongs to.
i just hope he resembles either a lab or an akita.. and not far away.
prob lang ana if he does not look like either of the two...

mao na resulta sa mixed breed.
labrador have solid color like black, fawn or brown but depende na sa pagbreed or mixing of color.
akita have many different colors too but depende na pud na sa pagbreed.

mixed lab og akita man na, its hard to determine kung asa cya naliwat or lain iyang color compare sa parents.

usahay pud lain pud og nawng mugawas dli maliwat sa parents.

kng pet lng imo u hav nothing to worry.

but ang concern nimo na gi ilad imng bro try to contact his classmate and see the parents of the dog.

i disagree... unless the vet has an apparatus that can determine ones breed via genetics.
vets study medical aspects of animals, incl. that of dogs.
but as to breeds, they are just as clueless as ordinary mortals
unless a particular vet is a breed enthusiast.
