Why don't we appeal to the UN to intervene on our behalf? Unsa man diay purpose sa UN kung dili sila makatabang? In this modern day and age, for one country to "invade" another country, esp one as high-profile a country as China, we'd be risking a full-blown international debacle, possibly a World War. For a communist country to "invade" a democratic country and a known ally of the US...that is a really, really risky move. An attack on the Philippines by China could be seen by the international community as a show of force to all democratic countries (e.g. US allies). Uhmm, that is not good...not good at all. Mao na na nga panahon nga manago na kita sa mga langob or asa pa nga underground nato matagoan, kay mag Star Wars aka World War III na.

Well Syria's situation is different because it's an internal conflict. The UN has historically been more hesitant to step in when the conflict is internal (e.g. civil unrest/civil war). But one country invading another? That's a whole different ball game , di ba? Iraq invading Kuwait caused the Gulf War. China, a totalitarian/communist regime, invading Pinas, a democratic nation who is a known fan/ally of the US? Hmnnn...
