Some Izod products are made in the Philippines. I think Marks and Spencer, Terranova and Forever 21 have products made in India, Indonesia, or Egypt. Try lang tan-aw. Sa Europe masdaghan choices kay naa sila made in Africa didto dili lang made in China.
will add this to the list. Sadly, I have a marks and spencer coat nga made in china for some reason. tago kaayo ang tag gud mao guro la ko kita ato dah. hehe... i had the impression this brand makes its products in bangladesh cuz i know a friend married an owner of a factory there that made clothing products for this brand.
we really need to take the extra effort in order to get something not made in china these days. but then again, it's not impossible. thanks for contributing Faeries!
mahalan tingali sa production cost ang pinoy if maghimo ta ato kaugalingon product. At least ang pinakurat nga suka pinoy made LOL Bitaw its up to the business owners man pud kung unsay ganahan nila ibaligya. Sa title ni TS abi nako gipugos siya palit ug china made product hehehe

i respect your effort TS... but i thinks its futile... Something maybe made in EU or America, but china may have a large stake on that company anyway...Something made in egypt or france, but the individual components maybe made in china... Just because there's no lable that it is made in china, it doesn't mean that there no parts made in china...Like in auto industry, toyota is made in japan, but a some of its components are made in china, same with other auto companies...
Unsaon kaha nato boss noh, kung ang China dili na mubaligya sa ilang 'rare earth' ? I think dili lang Pinas ang magkalisod hasta tibuok kalibutan.
What are 'rare earths' used for?
"Rare earths" are a group of 17 chemically similar elements crucial to the manufacture of many hi-tech products. Despite their name, most are abundant in nature but are hazardous to extract. Most "rare earth" elements have uses in several different fields, as well as those listed below.
Neodymium
This is used to make powerful magnets used in loudspeakers and computer hard drives to enable them to be smaller and more efficient. Magnets containing neodymium are also used in green technologies such as the manufacture of wind turbines and hybrid cars.
Lanthanum
This element is used in camera and telescope lenses. Compounds containing lanthanum are used extensively in carbon lighting applications, such as studio lighting and cinema projection.
Cerium
Used in catalytic converters in cars, enabling them to run at high temperatures and playing a crucial role in the chemical reactions in the converter. Lanthanum and cerium are also used in the process of refining crude oil.
Yttrium is used in the process of generating colour displays on devices such as television screens
Praseodymium
Used to create strong metals for use in aircraft engines. Praseodymium is also a component of a special sort of glass, used to make visors to protect welders and glassmakers.
Gadolinium
Used in X-ray and MRI scanning systems, and also in television screens. Research is also being done into its possible use in developing more efficient refrigeration systems.
Yttrium, terbium, europium
Important in making televisions and computer screens and other devices that have visual displays as they are used in making materials that give off different colours. Europium is also used in making control rods in nuclear reactors.
Just a thought..
The machines that manufacture most of this Philippine-made products are most likely to either be made from China, or reconditioned from China and/or most of its parts are made from China. These "friendly" countries you are talking about, they subcontract some of the parts or some of the ingredients of the product to China. The subcontract the packaging to China. Their logistics equipment, one way or another, are made from China.
And why would we want to avoid things that are made from China?? Although it's true that most of the products that they sell have poor quality, but you're talking about the knock-offs! The Adadis, the Nokai, the Sonya. And the extremely cheap stuff. Of course it's of poor quality. It's cheap.
And if you've bought a China-made item that is expensive but has poor quality, does that talk about how China-made items are? Does it not talk about the unfair retail practices you experienced? Does it not talk about the gullibility of consumers to willingly buy these items??
Since you mentioned about China-made items aren't that Cheap anymore,
a. Isn't M&Ms cheaper than Lindt, Villars or Meji?
b. Isn't Lady's choice cheaper than Peter Pan?
And since you mention the inferiority of the quality of China-made products,
a. Would you rather have a Goya bar than M&Ms? (although goya bar tastes good, too)
b. Would you rather put Lily's peanut butter on your sandwich rather than Lady's choice peanut butter?
(both are more or less of the same price)
It just goes to show that most of the China-made products are cheaper. And NOT ALL of them have poor quality.
The other alternatives you mentioned are there. What more can you ask? There isn't a lot because frankly, there aren't a lot within an average Filipino's price range! Retailers always look to their profits. If it doesn't sell that much, why buy it, diba?
