Default Intel makes preparations to phase out six low end CPUs

With Ivy Bridge's reign upon us and a slew of new processor models on the cards, Intel is running its usual course of phasing out the old and rolling in the new, only in this particular instance it's preparing to chop off some older low-end parts in the Celeron, Core i3 and Pentium famlies. It was advised to its partners in a recent product change notification that it will will cease shipments of the following processor models as of April 16th, 2013 :-- Celeron P4600 (2.0 GHz)
    - Core i3-370M (2.4 GHz0
    - Core i3-390M (2.6 GHz)
    - Pentium P6100 (2.0 GHz)
    - Pentium P6200 (2.13 GHz)
    - Pentium P6300 (2.2 GHz)
Orders can continue to be made by customers with the ability to cancel up until October 16th of this year, after which date cancellations can no longer be made. Intel justifies the discontinuation of the aforementioned models due to a "shift of market demand".

this EOL as stated above is only intended for the older generation mobile i3 and mobile pentium processors... remember, there are still a very alive & kicking pentium and celeron class on the desktop and mobile processors at present... its the Sandy Bridge Pentium and Celeron families... the G600 and G800 series for the SB pentiums. The G400 and G500 series for the SB celerons... these are intel's entry level processors for the desktops....

then there's the B900 series for the pentium mobile and B7 and B8 series for the celeron mobile too for the entry level notebooks...
