We must find new models of progress and prosperity that limit demand on ecological assets. Instead of liquidating the resources we have left for fast cash, we must maintain the resources we have left as an ongoing source of wealth.
I think that the real population of the Philippines in 2010 had already surpassed the 100 million mark and the NSO more likely underestimates the population by 8 million the for some factors like difficult of collecting data at the slums, gated communities, or faraway barangays.

population growth cannot be controlled easily because of cultural and religious reasons, not to mention, the Philippines is known to be very conservative and very much Catholic, in its broadest sense. But the trouble is, babies grow up. These are basic needs that must be filled. There will be more babies born 20 years from now than the number of babies that are born this day. There are more babies being born today than there were in the 1970s.
